![]() The end connections available are the same connections that we have available for our valves. Once we have saved our changes to Project Setup, we are able to set the end connections of the lines connected to our pump. This will ensure the correct orientation of end connection symbols. We add ‘:EndCode90’ to the name of attachment point 1 and ‘ :EndCode270’ to the name of attachment point 2. We now edit the block definition for our example General Pump symbol. ![]() ![]() We set it to a Selection List and create a new selection list with a single entry of Unspecified. In the figure above, we add the EndConnections property to the Pumps class. In Project Setup, we simply have to add the List type Property ‘ EndConnections’ to the class of symbol that we want to show end connections and add the ‘:EndCode#’ suffix to the names of the appropriate attachment points in the P&ID block definition of the symbol. AutoCAD P&ID 2014 Tutorial is written for students and engineers who are interested to learn AutoCAD P&ID 2014 for creating Piping and Instrumentation. However, it is a simple configuration task to add to equipment, or other engineering items, the same end connection symbols that are available for valves. The above pump symbol simply shows the lines connecting to the pump. J.Out of the box, AutoCAD P&ID does not show the end connections on lines that are connected to items of equipment. Because of this, most P&IDs are still "dumb" and not tied to the 3D models or isometrics in any way. ![]() However, in my experience, a lot of clients have not bought in to the "smart" P&IDs just yet and do not see the extra front-end time needed to set up the features as worth the time and money. ![]() What fittings are you attempting to show on the P&ID?ĥ) Are you attempting to utilize "smart" P&IDs? If so, then yes, this could potentially cause a discrepancy further down the road if all the P&IDs, 3D models, orthos, and isos are tied together in the software. Let me try to ask a few more questions before answering further.Ģ) Does your company standards require you to show the end connections?ģ) Is this work for a client? If so, does the client standards require you to show end connections?Ĥ) Also, you mentioned you were trying to show end connections for "fittings" as well. ![]()
